Two big rig collision leaves one engulfed in flames
News

A big rig caught on fire on eastbound Interstate 80 in Placer County on Wednesday morning, according to California Highway Patrol.

CHP said the inflamed big rig caught on fire after running into the back of another big rig. Officers have not yet determined a cause for the collision.

The driver of the burned big rig is fine, according to CHP, and the driver of the big rig he collided with has been transported to the hospital for minor aches.

The accident briefly shut down traffic lanes on I-80 at the Pynryn Road exit in Loomis, but CHP said two eastbound lanes were reopen as of 6:40 a.m. and crews were shoveling debris.
