Three arrested in identity theft drug ring

ID=24994443Three people were arrested Wednesday morning for operating a large-scale identity theft ring, the Placer County Sheriff's Office said.

The sheriff's office reports that Cassie Delmugnaio 36, of Sacramento and Kristina Downs, 25, of Auburn were arrested at the Quality Inn on Lincoln Way in Auburn. Deputies found stolen credit cards, cell phones, social security numbers and tax returns in their hotel room. Also found was a computer and other items used to make fake checks.

Both suspects had warrants for their arrests.

Information found at the Quality Inn led detectives to the Fairfield Inn in Roseville where Joseph Theodore Sisk, 37, a transient, also was arrested with the help of Roseville police.

According to the sheriff's office, Sisk was found in possession of methamphetamine. He also had of a large amount of items believed to be used in identity theft, and an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

All three suspects were booked at the Placer County Jail in Auburn for a variety of charges.

A joint investigation with the Roseville Police Department is ongoing.
