Placer County officials plan DUI patrols Memorial Day weekend

Placer County’s DUI Task Force will deploy officers this holiday weekend at DUI/Drivers License Checkpoints and DUI Saturation Patrols to arrest impaired drivers. The Avoid the 7 DUI Task Force is composed of seven local law enforcement agencies dedicated to combating drunk driving. The program is called the Avoid DUI Campaign because motorists can "avoid" being arrested by not drinking and driving.

DUI enforcement operations begin Friday, May 27 and conclude at midnight on Monday, May 30. Saturation patrols will deploy in Roseville Friday night. On Saturday, a DUI/Drivers license checkpoint will be set up by the California Highway Patrol. On Sunday night, saturation patrols will be deployed throughout Auburn.

The Memorial Day weekend is witness to the kick off of summertime recreation and holiday travel, along with many college and high school graduations seeing thousands celebrate their accomplishments.
