Rep. Tom McClintock is running once again for the 4th Congressional District and said the economy should be top priority.

“The overriding issue facing our country is the economy and the damage that excessive spending is doing, not only to our prosperity, but to our security as our nation,” McClintock said in a recent phone interview. “Countries that bankrupt themselves aren’t around very long. Our country is at a crossroads right now.”

The polls opened today at 7:00 a.m. and close at 8:00 p.m.

How do I vote at the polls?
  1. The location of your polling place can be found on the back cover of your sample ballot pamphlet.
     
  2. Once at the polling place you will announce your name and address to the Election Officer who will check to see if your name is on the listing. When your name and address are located, the Elections Officer will ask you to sign your name in the roster.

    If your name is not on the list, you may be at the wrong polling place. Check the polling place address on your sample ballot.

Special General Election Registration Deadline

Special General Election Registration Deadline

The last day to register to vote for the May 3 Special General Election to be held in Assembly District 4 is April 18.

Registration forms may be picked up at all post offices and libraries in Placer County or online at www.sos.ca.gov. To further assist Placer County voters, voter registration forms will be placed outside the Placer County Office of Elections entrance at 2956 Richardson Drive, Auburn, on April 18 until 12:00 AM (midnight). Completed registration forms will be processed the next morning. In addition, completed registration forms can be placed in the secure, drive-up drop-off box located in front of the Office of Elections.

To provide better service to voters, the Placer County Office of Elections will be open for business the weekend prior to the Election: April 30 and May 1, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Elections staff will be available on these days to process vote-by-mail requests and issue vote-by-mail ballots over the counter.
