[Unpacked my kitchen stuff and my appliances are all out on the counter. Easy access = actual use. Smoothies FTW!] | [Saks September Fashion catalog. I don't shop at Saks, but apparently my landlord's daughter does. And since they don't actually live here, what's the harm in browsing the pages a little, right?] | [Lip gloss pencil] | [Last night's game. We lost, but I got to spend a wonderful 3 hours staring at Tony Romo walk the sidelines with a headset on]

It's been exactly a week since our stuff was finally delivered, and I've been in major unpacking and cleaning mode all week (with a small project for my old employer thrown in...yay for work!). The dust is really kicking my allergies and eczema into high gear, so we're heading to Ikea this weekend to grab some more storage and unpack the rest of this stuff. Things are fitting in quite nicely, though!

Auburn Arborist Named “True Professional” by International Society of Arboriculture

Gordon Mann, an International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Certified Arborist and owner of Mann Made Resources in Auburn, California, has been named an ISA “True Professional of Arboriculture” for 2011.

The True Professional recognition program honors arborists and tree care professionals for their positive impact on the industry in and around their communities. ISA President Tim Gamma paid tribute to Mann at a ceremony on Monday, July 25 in Sydney, Australia as part of the ISA Annual Conference and Trade Show, held July 23—27, 2011.

“For Gordon, it’s all about encouraging people who are doing great things in arboriculture,” says Gamma. He doesn’t focus on the problem. Instead, Gordon is looking for ways to form partnerships and find new opportunities whether it is raising money for tree research or helping a nonprofit get off the ground.”

Among Mann’s best practices as a True Professional is his effort to increase awareness and raise money for tree care.

As I walked the footpath to the bridge, I could not help but to realize the last suicide jumper walked the same path as I.   And, only after I ventured into the middle section of the bridge, gained the perspective as an on-looker, did it hit me.  Where is that sign I’ve seen in newspapers signifying he
