7 tips for saving big with coupons

7 tips for saving big with coupons

MomsLikeMe hosted a live chat Thursday night with with local coupon blogger Emily Lyon of Clever Housewife. Lyon says she's not really a fan of the TV show Extreme Couponing because it's caused a lot of stores to change their coupon policies and it also distorts the idea of how much you can really save week to week.

Horizon Charter Schools Weather the Fiscal Crisis

Horizon Charter Schools Weather the Fiscal Crisis

In spite of the doom and gloom of California’s fiscal crisis and its impact on public education funding, Horizon Charter Schools are weathering the storm by offering unprecedented educational options that include adding hybrid programs in Auburn, raising the instructional funds available for independent/home study students, and providing academic support and enrichment to independent/home study students through credentialed teacher-based instruction in core content areas.

All education options are offered at no cost through Horizon Charter Schools.

In the Auburn area Horizon is opening two new hybrid options.  For grades 7-12, School of Kreativity, Innovation, and Excellence (SKIE) provides a multiple pathways program that includes core academics, project and community-based learning and opportunities for arts and media exploration.

Summer Infant Water Safety in Sacramento

With the beginning of summer upon us, thoughts turn to fun in the sun and water.  For infants and toddlers, that can mean tragedy.  In California, drowning is the number one killer of chidren under the age of four, according to the Infant Swimming Resource of Sacramento.

These skills are taught by certified instructors to assure that a day
