AUBURN, CA - An Auburn middle school aide and math tutor was arrested on suspicion of engaging in an inappropriate relationship with a 14-year-old girl.

Gerald K. Heisler, 62, of Colfax, was taken to Placer County Jail Tuesday on booking charges of lewd and lascivious acts with a child, annoying or molesting a child, contact with a minor with the intention of committing a sex crime, and child pornography, said Dena Erwin, spokesperson for the Placer County Sheriff's Office.

The parents of the girl contacted the sheriff's department Monday night  upon finding explicit text messages on their daughter's cellphone.

Heisler was arrested at E.V. Cain Middle School. He posted $100,000 Tuesday night and his next court hearing was set for June 3 at Santucci Justice Center.

Erwin said investigators do not believe there are other victims.
