Public invited to judge anti-smoking poster contest Saturday

The winning entries in the 20th annual “Don’t Buy the Lie” contest – Kaiser Permanente’s school-based anti-tobacco campaign – will be turned into billboards in Greater Sacramento

The public is invited to celebrate 20 years of Kaiser Permanente’s successful “Don’t Buy the Lie” program by judging more than 100 entries in a poster contest with anti-tobacco themes.

The artwork was drawn by local middle school and high school students over the past few weeks, and the winning entries will be turned into billboards.

“Don’t Buy the Lie” is an annual program sponsored by Kaiser Permanente and its partner, the Health Education Council, that has taught more than 300,000 children in the Greater Sacramento area about the dangers of smoking.

The judging takes place Saturday (April 13) from 12 to 4 p.m. at Center Court near JCPenney
