Medicine Voice Concert and “Gift of Truth” CD Release to Benefit Non-Profit ImpactAVillage

ImpactAVillage, Inc. is proud to announce the upcoming “Gift of Truth” concert and CD release in Nevada City.

This event is a culmination of the first medicine voice program. During this process individuals
use music to work through residual issues left unresolved through traditional methods such as talk therapy. Working with a facilitator to write lyrics and sing allows people to experience transformation. In this unique practice, songwriters use mindfulness, meditation and self-expression together to heal from traumas or life experiences.

Women who have participated in the medicine voice process will perform their songs at the concert. These individuals are not professional musicians. Facilitator Maniko Dru Dadigan has worked closely with these women to understand their personal journeys and to write songs and lyrics reflecting those experiences for the CD titled “Gift of Truth.”

“Maniko took me far beyond vocal technique into the heart of singing and self-expression, demonstrating that music can be a path toward personal growth, healing and communion,” said Crystal McLeod, a grief counselor. “She challenged, encouraged and skillfully supported me.”

All the funds raised by the concert will go directly back into ImpactAVillage’s life-changing work to improve communities around the world.

The event will be held Sunday, June 12 at 2:30 p.m. at the private Temple of Song, nestled in the forest three miles north of Nevada City. The address is 16486 Cooper Road, Nevada City, California 95959.
